Every year the LTC implements an Annual CIO Forum luncheon. This year's CIO Forum is tentatively for Friday August 28th, 2009 in New Orleans. We are currently in touch with organizations such as the State of Louisiana, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Shaw Group, Harrah's and other firms to participate in our Forum, but would like your feedback.
In 2008 we had Gerri Martin-Flickinger, CIO of Adobe, and Darko Hrelic, CIO of Gartner Inc. as panelists; previously we have had the President of Information Systems of Wal-Mart, Carolyn Walton, CIO from the Weather Channel, Brian Shield and CIO of Entergy, Ray Johnson with over 280+ people in attendance. Our objective is to obtain up to 3 top level CIO's (or equivalent) from major organizations to discuss specific technology topics that are key to their organization. Each participant gives a brief presentation on their organization (new initiatives, etc.) and what they are doing to be competitive and offer advice to help our members and the business community. A Q&A session follows the presentations.
On our limited budget as a 501c3 non-profit, we ask that the presenters waive any speaking fees they may have, in order to help us keep our costs down yet still provide a high-quality, informative event at a low price to our members. If you can recommend someone that might help us, please let me know. Last year's event was a huge success and we hope to do the same for 2009.
Please feel free to get with me if you have any questions. To learn more about our 2008 CIO Forum event, please go to: http://www.ltc-la.org/en/cev/140
