The Louisiana Technology Council (LTC) is proud to announce that the CIO of Gartner Inc., Darko Hrelic, will join Gerri Martin-Flickinger, CIO of Adobe as a participant on the LTC's Annual CIO Forum Luncheon scheduled for Friday, August 22nd, 2008. Each year the LTC implements an Annual CIO Forum to help educate local businesses with up and coming new technologies from experts throughout the country. Last year's participants included Carolyn Walton, VP of Integrated Systems for Wal-Mart, Brian Shield, CIO of the Weather Channel and Ray Johnson, CIO of Entergy.
"Having Mr. Hrelic join us this year is a testament of the LTC’s continued commitment in driving technology initiatives for our State," stated LTC President Mark S. Lewis. "Our CIO Forum is just one of a series of programs that we are implementing to help create jobs, educate the marketplace, gain national exposure and grow the technology industry; all designed to help make Louisiana - Tech Capital of the South," said Lewis.

As senior vice president and chief information officer, Gerri Martin-Flickinger oversees Adobe’s global Information Technology team, providing strategic direction and management for the company’s IT infrastructure worldwide, including its hosted services. In partnership with the business, Martin-Flickinger also has responsibility for developing innovative enterprise solutions built with Adobe products and technologies that solve business issues and reduce IT costs. Martin-Flickinger has more than 20 years of experience leading large-scale global IT organizations for companies experiencing explosive growth through acquisition, global expansion and/or implementing new business models. Her expertise includes leading organizations through transformational change, connecting IT to the needs of the business and aligning IT costs. Before joining Adobe, Martin-Flickinger was CIO of VeriSign, where she oversaw corporate information technology services for the company’s 60 offices worldwide. Prior to VeriSign, she served as CIO for Network Associates, Inc. and McAfee Associates, Inc. Before joining McAfee, Martin-Flickinger held several senior systems roles at Chevron Corporation, including serving as process consultant to Chevron’s executive staff. Martin-Flickinger holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Washington State University.
Darko Hrelic
Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Darko joined Gartner in January 2007 from ADP, where he led all aspects of ADP’s technical Strategy, Architecture and Technology as VP & CTO of Employer Services. He played an instrumental role in driving the SOA vision & strategy, making legacy systems on-demand SOA capable, definition and implementation of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) based on a loosely coupled integration architecture, common hosting platform & infrastructure, automated software provisioning and deployment, incubation-based software development process, enterprise SOA standardization and governance board and others. Prior to joining ADP, Darko spent over 21 years at IBM, most of which were at the world renown TJ Watson Research Center, working in areas such as videotext, high speed communications, electronic commerce and others. He also helped form the IBM Internet Division in mid-90’s, where he spearheaded the technical strategy for eCommerce – aka “eBusiness”. In year 2000, Darko was also a key technical driver in helping found e2open.com, a high tech industry electronic marketplace consortium startup. Darko holds a Master of Science in Computer Science degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ.
Edward J. Driesse
Chief Information Officer, State of Louisiana
Edward Driesse was appointed Chief Information Officer for the state of Louisiana on July 22 by Commissioner of Administration Angele Davis. He is from Lafayette and has 15 years experience as a chief information officer in both the public and private sectors, including three Fortune 500 companies. Driesse served as CIO for the Department of Health and Hospitals from 2007 until his new appointment. Prior to that, he served as CIO for AECOM Technology Corporation, a global design and management services company in Los Angeles, California, where he managed a budget of over $50 million and a staff of 260. His previous experience also includes serving as CIO for Foster Wheeler, Ltd., a global engineering and construction company in Clinton, New Jersey, where he oversaw the global deployment of the JD Edwards integrated applications system. Driesse has also served as Vice President and CIO for Zimmer, Inc., in Warsaw, Indiana, and for HealthTrust, Inc., in Nashville, Tennessee. Driesse holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and a Master of Science degree in computer science, both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
